I love all of Taylor’s albums like they’re my children but let’s be honest, some of my children behave better than others. Some raise me, some ruin me, and some make me stare out the window like I’m in a music video.
So today I wanted to share my Top 5 Taylor Swift Albums as of right now. It doesn’t change much… but also it changes constantly because I’m dramatic and Taylor keeps releasing things that emotionally destroy me in new ways.

Let’s get into it.
5. Midnights
When Midnights came out, it was instantly in my top 3. I was unwell. I was feral. I was pacing my room like a Victorian widow.
My favorite songs?
- Dear Reader — my Roman Empire
- Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve — emotional damage in 4 minutes
- You’re On Your Own, Kid — mine and Izzy’s song forever
We got it as a surprise song and cried the entire time like two girlies in a coming‑of‑age movie. The sound of this album is so nostalgic and dreamy — it feels like old‑school Taylor but with grown‑woman pain. Every lyric makes me feel seen in a way that’s almost rude.
4. evermore
Izzy is a folklore girly, so naturally I’m an evermore girl. Balance.

This album is like wandering through the woods in a cute coat while processing trauma.
- Cowboy Like Me is my repeat‑on‑loop song. It’s a story I relate to way too much.
- Long Story Short — my ex was definitely a SHORT story. (Don’t laugh, Izzy… actually yes laugh.)
- ’tis the damn season — I’m glad I don’t relate anymore, but the song still hits.
- Marjorie — I think of my abuela every time and cry. Every. Single. Time.
It’s soft, it’s sad, it’s healing, it’s haunting — everything I love.
3. 1989

Back in 2019, this was my number one. I was in my dancing through the sadness era.
The magic of 1989 is that every song is secretly devastating, but you can still twirl around your room like you’re in a perfume commercial.
- Clean was my go‑to with my dad for so long.
- All You Had to Do Was Stay — about an ex who got mad he left. Make it make sense.
- Slut! (Taylor’s Version) — I love her, your honor.
This album is glittery heartbreak, and I will always adore it.

2. reputation
My villain era. My rebirth era. My “don’t talk to me unless you’re ready for the truth” era.
My favorite song of all time lives here: Dancing With Our Hands Tied.
I had to hide relationships because I didn’t want to mix something that made me happy with family stuff that didn’t. This song understood me before I understood myself.
Then you have:
- Dress — unhinged in the best way
- So It Goes… — criminally underrated
- The whole album — makes love feel dangerous, magical, and worth fighting for
reputation is the album that taught me love can be good even when you don’t think you deserve it.
1. The Tortured Poets Department
My number one. My emotional support album. My personality for two years straight.

Yes, I’m happy and in love.
Yes, I still love crying about sad stuff. Duality.
This album hits every corner of my heart:
- My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys — literally about my ex. Even down to the army doll.
- Peter — my top song of 2024 because it reminded me of my dad.
- Guilty as Sin? — just a perfect song. No notes.
I could write a whole essay on this album. A thesis. A dissertation. A 12‑page MLA‑formatted analysis. It’s that good.
And that’s my current Top 5 — until Taylor releases something else and ruins my ranking again. Being a Swiftie is a full‑time emotional job, but honestly? I love the chaos.
Okay byeee, love you, go drink water and do something gentle for yourself today 💗
