Sometimes, healing doesn’t look like journaling with a lavender latte or doing a 10-step skincare routine while whispering affirmations. Sometimes, it looks like stomping into the woods, finding a spot where no one can hear you, and just screaming until your lungs give out and your soul feels a little lighter.

I’ve been fantasizing about it lately—just disappearing into the trees, letting the moss and branches swallow me whole, and yelling until the ache in my chest turns into steam and floats away. No explanations. No apologies. Just me, the forest, and the sound of my own unraveling.
Why the Woods?
Because the woods don’t judge.
Because trees have heard worse.
Because nature doesn’t ask you to be polite or pretty or composed.
There’s something ancient and sacred about letting your emotions echo through the canopy. It’s like the earth absorbs your chaos and hands you back silence. Not the scary kind of silence, but the kind that feels like a hug. Like the universe saying, “I got you.”
What I’d Scream

I’d scream about the things I can’t say out loud.
About the pressure to be okay.
About the way grief sneaks in wearing joy’s clothes.
About how sometimes I feel like I’m holding myself together with glitter glue and stubbornness.
And maybe I’d cry. Maybe I’d laugh. Maybe I’d just sit there afterward, staring at a beetle crawling across a leaf and feel… better. Not fixed. Not perfect. Just better.
The Fantasy Feels Like Freedom
I know I can’t always run off into the woods when life gets heavy. But even imagining it helps. It reminds me that I’m allowed to feel big feelings. That I don’t have to package my pain in a cute caption or a curated aesthetic.
Sometimes, the most honest thing we can do is scream.
So if you ever see a girl in the woods with wild hair and mascara tears, don’t worry. She’s just healing. Loudly. And unapologetically.
