Hi! Today is Happiness Day, which honestly could not have shown up at a better time. I’m coming off being sick, dealing with my ex, and juggling all my sisters’ nonsense. So yes I need a little joy. I need a little softness. I need a reminder that even when everything feels messy, there are still things that make me smile without even trying.
So here are the things bringing me happiness today.

📚 Reading
Reading has become my favorite part of the night. There is nothing better than crawling into bed after a long day, turning the lights off, and disappearing into a book.
Are some of my books questionable? Yes.
Are some of them terrifying? Also yes.
Is that the point? Absolutely not.
It’s the ritual the quiet, the escape, the way it resets my brain before sleep. It makes me happy every single time.

🎮 My Switch
My Switch is my portal to peace. I can go from stressed human to cozy farmer or island resident with talking animals in two seconds flat. Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing doesn’t matter. The moment I pick it up, the real world fades and I get to just be. Safe. Calm. Happy.

🐄 Cows
Cows. Just… cows.
They make me so ridiculously happy. I have cow stuffed animals, cow photos, cow everything. If it has a cow on it, I probably own it. They’re adorable, they’re gentle, they’re perfect. End of discussion.

🐈 Cow (my cat, not the animal… well, also the animal)
I love cows so much I named my cat Cow. And honestly? He lives up to the name.
Every night, like clockwork, when I’m reading or playing my Switch, he climbs onto my lap and falls asleep. He wakes me up by jumping on my back and meowing like he pays rent. He sleeps by my legs every night. He is my comfort creature, my little shadow, my happiness in fur form. I love him more than anything.

👬 My Friends

Right now they’re being dicks but they’re my dicks.
They’re men, so obviously they act like men, but they’re still my friends. They make me laugh when I need it, distract me when my brain won’t shut up, and always have my back even when they’re annoying. They make me happy, even when I want to throw a shoe at them.
✨ Izzy (duh)
I’ve written about her a lot lately, and the next post is literally her birthday post, so I won’t inflate her ego too much today. But yes she makes me happy. We have the kind of nights where we just do whatever we want, laugh until we can’t breathe, and create chaos that becomes core memories. She’s my person.

💛 Today’s Reminder
Happiness doesn’t have to be big. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It can be a book, a game, a cat named Cow, or a friend who annoys you into laughing. It can be softness in the middle of chaos.
And today, I’m choosing to notice it.
