September felt like one long montage of me laughing, crying, having a mental breakdown, then immediately fixing my mascara and pretending everything was fine. I swear this month had more plot twists than a Sara Cate book… which, speaking of, became my entire personality for a solid week.
My monthly outing with Izzy was chef’s kiss as always. We skipped Applebee’s like two questionable decision-making people and crossed the street like we were in a dramatic movie scene, and hit Five Below and Walmart with the determination of women on a mission. I was hunting for Daddy’s Girl like it was the last golden egg on Easter morning. It was sold out online, sold out in Walmart, sold out everywhere but did that stop me? Absolutely not. I grabbed Foxx by Prisley Hope (still unread but the excitement is REAL), Izzy snagged Lights Out, and then I grabbed shirts for my dad because apparently I’m a thoughtful daughter even when I’m sweating through my clothes in the Florida heat.

Then came the moment. The moment that felt like fate, destiny, and a rom‑com climax all rolled into one. We crossed EIGHT lanes of traffic like two girls who clearly value books more than their own safety. We walked into Target, went straight to the book aisle, and there it was. Daddy’s Girl. My holy grail. My treasure. My serotonin in paperback form. I snatched it like someone was going to take it from me. Read it immediately. Book club pick. Review coming soon because I have thoughts.

And then… the ARCs. My first month ever applying, and suddenly authors were like “hey girl, join my street team?” and I was like “absolutely, yes, I will marry this opportunity.” I got accepted by multiple authors, including PRU SCHUYLER someone I’ve loved forever. I screamed. I kicked my feet. I giggled. I posted. I felt like a main character. So if you see more bookish chaos on my Instagram… just know I’m living my best life.
Reading this month? Oh baby, I devoured. I passed 30 hours, read almost every day except two Mondays (one because I was living my best three‑day‑weekend life with Izzy, the other because my head was trying to explode). I started audiobooks and now I’m unstoppable. I’m also at 28 out of 30 books for the year which is insane.

My weekends with Izzy are always their own little universe. We kept ending up at the river even when it was hot enough to melt us but somehow it was still peaceful and perfect. One weekend we both got sick, which was honestly so on‑brand for us… but we survived, laughed about it, and moved on like champs.

We had one of those nights where we laughed and cried and talked about everything and nothing. And then our BFFL fell asleep on call, and instead of hanging up, we just kept talking to each other while he snored in the background. It was weirdly comforting, like the three of us were still connected even though one of us was fully unconscious.
As for Emily and the others… nothing new. Megan unfollowed me on Instagram (girl, okay), Facebook keeps showing me photos of people I don’t even follow, and Emily keeps reposting things that scream “this is about me” even though… it’s not. I’m not giving any of them my energy. They can stay in their little corner of the internet.
Overall? September was good. Not perfect, not peaceful, not without panic attacks or sad moments but good. I felt fine. I felt steady. I felt like myself. And most importantly… I made it through.
We did it, babe. We survived September.
Okay byeee, love you, go drink water and do something gentle for yourself today 💗
