Thereās something magical about having a nighttime routine a rhythm, a ritual, a little roadmap that tells your brain, āHey babe, weāre done surviving for the day. Time to soften.ā Iāve tried a million ways to shut my mind off at night, but this one? This one actually works. So come along with me as I walk you through my nightly journey from 9 PM to⦠well⦠whenever my brain finally lets me sleep.
š® 9:00 PM ā Witchy Journaling Hour

Every night at 9 PM (unless Iām feeling chaotic and doing a lateānight workout), I start my journaling. This is my grounding time the moment I shift from āday modeā to āwitchy, cozy, intentional night mode.ā
First up: my witchy journal.
This is where I pull my daily tarot card, write about what it means for me, and add any spells or intentions for the next day. This part is so important to me because itās not just writing itās directing my energy. Itās taking a wish and turning it into a plan. Itās aligning my magic with the reality I want to create. Itās inviting the universe to meet me halfway.
Once thatās done, I switch to my bullet journal.
Here I track things like:
- How my day went
- How long I slept
- My mood
- All the tiny blocks of color that eventually become a whole year
Itās weirdly satisfying to see my life in little squares.
Then I hop onto my iPad for some digital scrapbooking and planning for the next day. After that, I finish any last bits of work because when midnight hits⦠the office is CLOSED.
š 12:00 AM ā Shut the Place Down

Midnight is the hard cutoff. Computer off. iPad away. Work brain: dismissed.
This is when I shift the whole vibe of my space.
Big lights off. Cute little lights on.
Izzy gave me these adorable hanging candle lights that glow near the kitchen, and honestly? Theyāre the perfect āI like the dark but I also donāt want to trip and dieā compromise. They stay on all night, giving the place a soft, warm vibe.
I do one final quick clean nothing major just making sure dinner stuff is put away and the space feels calm. Then I crawl into bed, ready for my favorite part.
š® Switch Time!

This is MY time.
The world is quiet. Cow is curled up on my lap. And I get to disappear into my games.
Right now Iām back into Animal Crossing, but obviously Stardew Valley is always in rotation. Iāll usually put on a comfort movie Iāve seen a hundred times, some YouTube, or watch my best friend play a game I absolutely do not understand. It doesnāt matter this is the part of the night where I donāt have to think. I just get to exist.
š 2ā3 AM ā Reading + Apps + WindāDown

Around 2 or 3 AM, I take my meds and switch into reading mode.
Since itās December, Iām currently reading a cute Christmasāthemed book, and I track everything with my Bookly app (which Iām obsessed with).
After reading for a bit, I fill out:
- My diary app (what I did, how I felt)
- My Human app (symptom tracking)
- My Flinch app (checking off the last tasks of the day)
Itās like closing all the tabs in my brain.

š§āāļø Face Time
This is honestly my favorite part of the night.
I wash my face, do my skincare, and it feels like washing off the entire day ā the stress, the emotions, the weird moments, all of it. Most of my products are from Dollar Tree, and guess what? They work great.
Then I brush my hair, crawl into bed, and⦠attempt to sleep.
Keyword: attempt.
Because letās be real my brain loves to stay up even when my body is so ready for bed.
š And Thatās My Night
Itās structured, itās cozy, itās witchy, itās productive, and it keeps me feeling centered. This routine is my anchor the thing that helps me transition from chaos to calm every single night. I need this to feel safe and to close out my night.
