Okay listen… Lies to Girls by Sabrina Carpenter is basically my personality test at this point.
It’s my fav on Short n’ Sweet because Sabrina really woke up one day and said, “Let me expose Daisy personally.” And she did. Loudly.
Right at the start she hits us with:
“I’m stupid but I’m clever.”
“I can make a shit show look a whole lot like forever.”
And I’m sorry… why would she say that about me specifically.
“I’m stupid but I’m clever” my entire brand
This line? Yeah. That’s me.
I’m the girl who gives everyone else the best advice in the world — like TED Talk level, life-changing, “wow Allie you’re so wise” type advice.
And then I turn around and make the dumbest choices known to mankind.
I used to fall for the wrong men.
Even the shorter ones.
(Izzy, don’t even start. I can FEEL you laughing.)
I trusted empty promises like they were gospel.
Meanwhile I’m telling everyone else, “girl don’t fall for that,” and they listen and thrive.
And me? I’m out here ignoring my own brain cells like they’re spam emails.
How can I be so smart for everyone else but so dumb for myself…
It’s honestly impressive.

If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s making a disaster look adorable.
I can romanticize anything.
I can decorate a red flag.
I can turn a dumpster fire into a Pinterest board.
That’s how no one knew how bad things were with Emily.
I made it look cute. I made it look stable. I made it look like “omg goals.”
Meanwhile I was drowning in the background like a Sims character with no ladder in the pool.
And with my ex?
He wasn’t a bad person he just made one really bad choice that blew everything up.
But to my best friend David?
He thought I was living in a Nicholas Sparks novel.
He saw a relationship that looked happy, healthy, thriving.
I’m a magician.
Too bad the only person I was fooling was me
