Y’ALL.
Let me just start by saying: this book had me in a chokehold.
Like… I opened it thinking “oh this will be fun,” and suddenly I’m 200 pages deep, emotionally invested, and questioning my entire personality.
Praise by Sara Cate is the first book in the Salacious Players’ Club series, and listen… if you like your romance with a little edge, a little darkness, a little “I should NOT be enjoying this but I am,” then yeah. This is your book.

We’ve got:
- an age gap
- forbidden vibes
- emotional neglect trauma
- a girl who just wants to feel wanted
- a man who knows exactly how to give validation
- and a dynamic that is… let’s just say… not for the vanilla girlies
Charlie Underwood ends up working for her ex-boyfriend’s dad Emerson Grant and instead of this being a normal, awkward situation, it turns into a whole journey of her finally getting the praise, attention, and emotional safety she’s been starving for.
And the way he calls her his “good girl”…
I had to put the book down and stare at the ceiling.
My Thoughts (aka me exposing myself again)

YALL!!! I loved this book.
Like… LOVED it.
This is definitely a “if you like kinks, this is your playground” type of book, but it’s also surprisingly emotional. Charlie’s whole arc of realizing she deserves affection, validation, and softness? Yeah. That hit.
And Emerson?
Sir.
Please.
Calm down.
Or don’t. I’m not complaining.
I would give it:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 stars
And for spice level?

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
5 hot level
Because girl… it is SPICY.
Not “cute little romance spice.”
No.
This is “I need to drink water and take a walk” spice.
Final Thoughts
If you want a book that’s messy, emotional, validating, forbidden, and hot enough to fog up your glasses, Praise is absolutely the one.
And yes, I will be reading the rest of the series because I have no self-control and Sara Cate knows exactly what she’s doing.
I love you guys and see you in the next post!
